Abstract
Primary infarct of the greater omentum is an uncommon cause of acute abdominal pain, often mimicking other acute abdominal conditions. By the increased utilization of computed tomography scanning, conditions that are conservatively managed such as intraabdominal focal fat infarction of either epiploic appendix or segmental omentum has been increasingly identified. We report a case of primary omental infarction and discuss the diagnostic and therapeutic implications of this entity.
