Abstract
Os subfibulare is an accessory ossicle located at the distal tip of lateral malleolus. It is usually detected incidently and occasionally it may be symptomatic. However, it may be misdiagnosed as lateral malleolar avulsion fracture in the clinical setting of ankle trauma. Herein, we report a case of os subfibulare which is misdiagnosed as lateral malleolar avulsion fracture and discussed its clinical and radiologic features that will help in differential diagnosis.
