Severe Carbamat Toxicity

Abstract

Organophosphate and carbamate insecticides are important toxicologic agents in agricultural areas. We report a case who presented to the emergency department and diagnosed severe carbamate intoxication. The involvement of the respiratoryand central nerveous system are the most dramatic and life threatening effects of the poisoning. Although standard therapy including airway management. oxygen. high dose atropine and contravertially pralidoxime is recommended in severe poisoning. our case complately improved only with airway management and oxygen treatment.
